# Countryside Officer
|
|
|
|
Countryside officers are responsible for a range of activities that manage and maintain the natural environment and associated public access and recreation. They encourage visitors to open spaces/the countryside, promote awareness of the natural environment and protect and preserve the open space/countryside for future enjoyment.
|
|
|
|
## Core workflow
|
|
|
|
1. Plan and organize public events at the park.
|
|
2. Develop environmental educational programs and curricula for schools.
|
|
3. Train staff on park programs.
|
|
4. Provide visitor services, such as explaining regulations, answering visitor requests, needs and complaints, and providing information about the park and surrounding areas.
|
|
5. Conduct field trips to point out scientific, historic, and natural features of parks, forests, historic sites, or other attractions.
|
|
6. Prepare and present illustrated lectures and interpretive talks about park features.
|
|
7. Perform emergency duties to protect human life, government property, and natural features of park.
|
|
8. Confer with park staff to determine subjects and schedules for park programs.
|
