chemical-engineer Occupational skill for the role 'chemical engineer' (also: chemical technology engineering consultant, chemical technology engineer, pyrotechnics chemical engineer, chemical technology engineering adviser, chemical engineering expert, chemical technology engineering specialist). Use when the user asks for typical chemical engineer work such as: Troubleshoot problems with chemical manufacturing processes.; Evaluate chemical equipment and processes to identify ways to optimize performance or to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.; Perform tests and monitor performance of processes throughout stages of production to determine degree of control over variables such as temperature, density, specific gravity, and pressure.

Chemical Engineer

Chemical engineers design and develop large-scale chemical and physical production processes and are involved in the entire industrial process required for transforming raw materials into products.

Core workflow

  1. Troubleshoot problems with chemical manufacturing processes.
  2. Evaluate chemical equipment and processes to identify ways to optimize performance or to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  3. Perform tests and monitor performance of processes throughout stages of production to determine degree of control over variables such as temperature, density, specific gravity, and pressure.
  4. Monitor and analyze data from processes and experiments.
  5. Develop computer models of chemical processes.
  6. Develop safety procedures to be employed by workers operating equipment or working in close proximity to ongoing chemical reactions.
  7. Determine most effective arrangement of operations such as mixing, crushing, heat transfer, distillation, and drying.
  8. Prepare estimate of production costs and production progress reports for management.
