chemistry-technician Occupational skill for the role 'chemistry technician' (also: chemistry laboratory assistant, chemistry lab technician, nuclear laboratory technician, nuclear chemistry technician, chemistry assistant, production chemistry technician). Use when the user asks for typical chemistry technician work such as: Monitor product quality to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.; Set up and conduct chemical experiments, tests, and analyses, using techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy, physical or chemical separation techniques, or microscopy.; Conduct chemical or physical laboratory tests to assist scientists in making qualitative or quantitative analyses of solids, liquids, or gaseous materials.

Chemistry Technician

Chemistry technicians monitor chemical processes and conduct tests to analyse chemical substances for manufacturing or scientific purposes. They work in laboratories or production facilities where they assist chemists in their work. Chemistry technicians perform laboratory activities, test chemical substances, analyse data and report about their work.

Core workflow

  1. Monitor product quality to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
  2. Set up and conduct chemical experiments, tests, and analyses, using techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy, physical or chemical separation techniques, or microscopy.
  3. Conduct chemical or physical laboratory tests to assist scientists in making qualitative or quantitative analyses of solids, liquids, or gaseous materials.
  4. Compile and interpret results of tests and analyses.
  5. Provide technical support or assistance to chemists or engineers.
  6. Prepare chemical solutions for products or processes, following standardized formulas, or create experimental formulas.
  7. Maintain, clean, or sterilize laboratory instruments or equipment.
  8. Write technical reports or prepare graphs or charts to document experimental results.
