# Occupational Therapist
Occupational therapists assist individuals or groups who have occupational limitations due to diseases, physical disorders, and temporary or permanent mental disabilities, in regaining their ability to perform daily activities. They provide treatment and rehabilitation to enable them to actively participate in society, to live their lives according to their wishes and to perform those activities that are meaningful to them. Occupational therapists work in public health and social care services, but can also be involved in supporting asylum seekers, refugees and/or homeless people.
## Core workflow
1. Train caregivers in providing for the needs of a patient during and after therapy.
2. Complete and maintain necessary records.
3. Evaluate patients' progress and prepare reports that detail progress.
4. Test and evaluate patients' physical and mental abilities and analyze medical data to determine realistic rehabilitation goals for patients.
5. Select activities that will help individuals learn work and life-management skills within limits of their mental or physical capabilities.
6. Plan, organize, and conduct occupational therapy programs in hospital, institutional, or community settings to help rehabilitate persons with disabilities because of illness, injury or psychological or developmental problems.
7. Recommend changes in patients' work or living environments, consistent with their needs and capabilities.
8. Consult with rehabilitation team to select activity programs or coordinate occupational therapy with other therapeutic activities.

# External AI agent skills — occupational-therapist
Proven, publicly available AI agent skills mapped to this occupation.
Nothing is copied from the sources: every entry is a name, a one-line

summary and a link to the upstream skill package. Each section names
its source repository, commit, license and retrieval date.
**Tiers:** `core` = the skill directly exercises a top market hard

skill, tool or method (from gated job-ad evidence) or an essential

ESCO competence of this occupation; `adjacent` =

plausibly useful, secondary. Entries are capped at 12 per source
and 80 in total per occupation (core first,
strongest matches survive); everything beyond the caps is excluded
and logged in the pipeline audit trail, not in this package.

tiered against market evidence + ESCO essentials) by

Occupational therapists assist individuals or groups who have occupational limitations due to diseases, physical disorders, and temporary or permanent mental disabilities, in regaining their ability to perform daily activities. They provide treatment and rehabilitation to enable them to actively participate in society, to live their lives according to their wishes and to perform those activities that are meaningful to them. Occupational therapists work in public health and social care services, but can also be involved in supporting asylum seekers, refugees and/or homeless people.
